New Patient Information

August 4, 2006

My name is Claudia. I have been in chronic pain from 3 ruptured discs in my neck and 3 in my lower back as of October 13, 2001. On May 31st, 2006 I was walking out of my chiropractor’s office. In front of me was Dr. Gaines. We started talking and I looked desperate and teary eyed. He led me to Dr. Parker’s Wellness Center. I had lost all hope and I was very desperate.

After my first visit and examination to determine if I could be helped, Dr. Steven Parker, D.C. and his staff have totally changed my life and outlook on life itself. If not for the Wellness Center, I would be dead from desperation and loss of faith. It has only been 8 weeks of 2-3 times a week 2-3 hour visits which include massage, whirlpool table, acupuncture and 20 year veteran, Dr. Parker’s knowledge and skill of helping my symptoms of Fibromyalagia with the newest technology, Lazer Light, etc…

For this I give thanks and love, because if you never give up, the answers will come. It was easy, all I had to do was show up. I feel 100% better, because I am on my way to total health.

Love Heals,

Claudia S.

Dear Dr. Parker,

I have suffered with Fibromyalgia chronically for over 30 years. I have been to different Medical Doctors, Neurologists, Orthopedists, Psychiatrists, Physical Therapists, have been thru all kinds of medications including pain medications and different sleeping pills for over 20 years (it took about 10 years of going to many different doctors and specialists before being diagnosed), have had epidurals in my lower back the last two years and have been seeing Chiropractors for over 10 years to present for chronic lower back pain and constant stiff neck with very little relief. My next step, according to my regular M.D., was “pain management”. That was the last thing I wanted to go thru…I hate taking pills and only did when I just couldn’t go without them. I have been suffering from so many ailments…too many to mention them all. Each day was becoming more and more of a challenge to just get out of bed and get to my job which was about all I was able to accomplish until I read an article in the newspaper about Fibromyalgia and to call for a free report…

Making that phone call changed my life. After my very first visit with you I have had zero lower back pain, not one headache, my stiff neck and upper back has improved dramatically and my allergies have all but disappeared (I was scheduled for sinus surgery this month and have cancelled the surgery thanks to you). I was so allergic to certain things that if I inhaled then my chest would promptly swell causing me to need Albuterol and my head would congest to the point of feeling like it was going to explode (my head stayed this way most of the time actually). I’ve experienced some of these things (mainly second hand cigarette smoke) that I avoided at all costs before with no effects whatsoever now. Incredible!!!

Your specialized treatment for Fibromyalgia is entirely different than anything I have ever experienced and I can truly say that after only two and a half weeks of treatments I am 95% pain free and like myself again. I get up feeling refreshed every day with a smile on my face ready to face the world. I have my energy, humor, and positive attitude back which I thought were all lost forever. I love life again…and have YOU to thank for that. By the way, my husband tells everyone he talks to about my finding you and what you’ve done for me and that he has his Patti back. He is absolutely elated how quickly you have helped me recover from such daily debilitating pain…it is truly a miracle and I thank God for guiding me to you.

Please send my message out there to anyone who suffers from Fibromyalgia that there is hope. No one has to suffer another day…all they have to do is call you!

Oh, one more thing I’d like to mention. Since starting therapy with you, I have taken zero pain medications for any purpose, am off my medication prescribed just for my Fibromyalgia and have taken about two sleeping pills. In other words out of 7 prescribed medications I am now taking two which have nothing to do with Fibromyalgia.

Thank you Dr. Parker and you wonderful courteous staff for everything you’ve done for me.

Sincerely,

Patti H.

Dr. Steven Parker,

My initial evaluation was on July 27th of this year. I had mulled over all the negative reasons for not making an appointment with your office for several weeks. The top reason on the list was that it was an hour and a half drive to your office from my home and I was just too tired and hurt too much to make the drive.

I had experienced a deterioration of the body during the past five years until during the month of June I was spending four of five days per week either in bed or asleep in my easy chair. I was just too tired to move! In addition, every muscle and joint from my finger nails down to my toe nails hurt. I was dependent upon pain pills to exist. I was told by my doctors to get used to the condition and learn to live with it, that there was nothing else they could do.

You performed a demonstration of your procedure on my neck and upper shoulder area. The effects were very graphic. After application of your adjuster tool to a specific point on my neck for some number of seconds, I felt a release – like water flow in the area. Following that, a perceivable relaxation in some section of the body occurred. Application of the procedure to different points on the neck brought the same result each time. Following each cycle of application I noticed a significant reduction (seventy percent or better) in the pain I was feeling in some muscle group or joint of the body. In addition, I perceived a greater degree of flexibility in the neck, back, and hip area. Also, I was able to rise from a sitting position to a standing position without assistance. By the time I reached home all my pain was gone.

You had said the effects might only last minutes, that the effects would not be permanent. Mine lasted in part for several days. On the first morning following my evaluation, I woke up feeling great. I had no pain and felt like I had a little energy. I went out and moved six loads of tree limbs during several hours of moderate exercise in 115 degree weather with my lawn tractor. This was the first time this year for the experience of feeling no pain and a month or more since I had enough energy to do any work. The second, third, fourth, and fifth days were a stepped descent back into my normal torture pit. Each step involved the reappearance of pain and stiffness in a new muscle group or joint. Actually, by the end of the week, I was worse off than before I started. I had tasted freedom from pain and fatigue for a few hours.

I have now had seven treatments. I feel like there is a big spotlight at the end of the tunnel. Hope once again is a close associate. Relative to pain and flexibility, years have been erased. I have quit taking all my pain medication. Energy wise, I have moved from being too tired to get out of bed, to being able to accomplish tasks requiring several hours of work during the days between my visits to your office. After years in the pain pit, it is really hard to wait for the body to heal itself. I want to go out and act like a forty year old once again. That was a time when I felt I could do anything. I know that state of being will once again be mine in a couple of months.

Sure glad that the gods crossed our paths. Thanks very much for being there and facilitating the return of a useful life.

Bruce R.

To All Fibromyalgia Sufferers:

As a woman who for years has suffered with Fibromyalgia and been to many physicians, had all sorts of treatments and either had not been helped or had my condition made worse, this is being written in hope of encouraging all the other Fibromyalgia sufferers, especially women, who can relate to what I have been through.

I have suffered with Firbomyalgia pain in my back, legs, neck and head for too many years to even want to recall. It has made my life a real struggle to deal with despite the fact I am considered to be a very positive person. There were time when I was unable to go to work due to being in such sever back pain that a physical therapist had to come to my home on a daily basis for three weeks to enable me to be able to get up. Even then, I function with sever pain and had to take all sorts of medications in order to be able to sustain a pain level where I could force myself through work and other of life’s obligations. I have been to Internists, Chiropractors, Acupuncturists, Physical Therapy, Orthopedists, Endocrinologists, Gynecologists and tried massages only to find I was in more pain after seeing them than before! Their treatments and sometimes like there of have resulted in my having to endure several avoidable surgeries and dangerous treatments. I am one who likes to take care of a problem ASAP, not waste life, money, energy and time “coping” with it. When treated by a COMPETENT Fibromyalgia specialist and having been blessed with great bodily healing power, I can now absolutely say I am 200% better than I have ever been and am not yet halfway through my treatments. I am excited about what the future holds when I reach full recovery.

Today, I am getting stronger and pain free daily which I contribute to having faith, a positive attitude and most importantly finding a COMPETENT, RELIABLE AND CARING KNOWLEDGABLE doctor to help enable me to be more active, achieve a range of mobility, function like a “human being” again and look forward to a healthy, happy future by giving me the knowledge of how to help myself stay healthy even when my treatments are finished as I am moving and Dr. Parker and his staff will be unavailable to me.

All the wasted life, money and time spent over the years without any pain relief cannot be gotten back. However, since being treated by Dr. Parker I have made wonderful progress in regaining the health that “bad or ignorant” doctors’ treatments have unfortunately resulted in. I like the fact that he shows you and explains exactly what is wrong, how he knows it is wrong, what needs to be done to correct in and how he plans on achieving that goal. He is an extremely gentle, kind, caring doctor who erally does care about his patients. He gives of himself unconditionally because he wants to help people feel their best. To me he is more than a doctor, he is a caring friend who is there whenever needed. Life is too precious and short to waste living in unnecessary pain when there is help for Firbomyalgia sufferers. I encourage all who are lucky enough to find and be blessed with him as their doctor to not delay in seeking his help ASAP.

Thank you so very much Dr. Parker for being the human being you are and using your skills to enable Fibromyalgia patients to live active, healthier, happier and normal lives.

Very Appreciatively,

Loretta W.

To Whom It May Concern:

I started treating with Dr. Steven Parker in July and within a couple of weeks I was already excited about the improvements in my body. I stopped working over 2 years ago due to my body being in too much pain from being injured at work. I have neck problems, shoulder problems (impingement), carpal tunnel syndrome in both wrists, and low back problems. Over the past 2 ½ years, I have had 3 neck injections, 3 low back epidurals, bilateral carpal tunnel surgery (which was not as successful as I had hoped. It got rid of most of the tingling, but the constant numbness remained. I also have had a lot of problems after the surgeries with scar tissue.), treated at 4 physical therapy clinics, seen about 6 chiropractors, received acupuncture treatments, met with 4 orthopedic doctors, etc… The above treatments gave me very little, if any, relief from pain, numbness, tingling, etc… I have also been suffering from depression anxiety, and hopelessness from my situation.

In any case, I feel very fortunate and thankful to have found and be treating with Dr. Steven Parker. My neck has improved greatly in regards to range of motion and pain level. My wrists are also feeling much better. I am no longer sleeping with a left wrist splint and that is great. Overall, the constant muscle pain and tension in my body have decreased. I am feeling hopeful about my health and future for the first time in years. To anyone with neck and wrist problems, I would strongly recommend giving Dr. Steven Parker a try – to see if he can help you. He definitely is helping me.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Melissa S.

Hello,

My name is Bernice Gerson and this is my story:

I am a 76 1/2 year old woman who fell backwards ice skating, landed on my bottom and hit my head on the ice. This happened in 1968. After 1968 I fell down a flight of steps re-injuring my back. I was in three auto accidents. In the first one I was hit at an intersection and my car was totaled. In the second accident I was hit in an intersection. I was parked at a light when I was hit by a car that went out of control making a left hand turn. I was taken in an ambulance to the nearest hospital.

This was the start of pain in the lower back and skull. I became an invalid after this fall. I was plagued with herniated discs and was hospitalized numerous times. My physician started me on what they call "muscle relaxants". The other drugs were Valium and Librium and I was unable to function. I was raising three children ranging in ages 4, 6 and 8.

My physician finally started epidurals after about five years. This helped but needed to be repeated thereafter. In 2006 I suffered a pinched nerve in my neck. I was given pain pills which were not effective. My pain was from a level of 1 - 10 was a 10.

My cousin recommended I see Dr. Steven Parker. Dr. Parker not only eliminated the pain of the pinched nerve but has eliminated the pain of my carpal tunnel in both wrists. Dr. Parker has also been correcting my low back problem. I have wet mascular degeneration and I believe that Dr. Parker has improved my sight with supplements and the use of his cold laser.

I can't thank you enough Dr. Parker. I am no longer an invalid and again have a normal life. Dr. Parker is now helping me lose weight.

No one ever told me there was a way out of this before I met Dr. Steven Parker...

Susan's Fibro Story:

Eight and a half years ago, I woke up in excruciating pain which was life altering. I was quickly infuriated by the medical profession's lack of knowledge and compassion...I fired two Rheumatologists, two Pain Management Specialists, a Physical Therapist, a Neurologist, a Gastroenterologist, several body workers, and a Neurosurgeon because their insensitivity and lack of skills resulted in increased anxiety and pain for me. After begging for an MRI of my neck and lower back which I suspected were part of the pain picture, the Neurosurgeon who read them was willing to perform some out-dated surgery which he admitted would not guarantee pain relief and was not compassionate about my suffering. I had epidurals for the degenerative discs. They were no help at all and I was sent to another Rheumatologist since I showed signs of what I called the F word...........Fibromyalgia, which doesn't even belong in their field. It's myriad of symptoms are clearly Neurological.

Most physicians don't understand it and can't treat it effectively because we are unable to tolerate medications, inappropriate physical therapies and excercise. I researched the so called specialists in Fibromyalgia & Chronic Fatigue and various off-the-wall protocols from all over the world. Few patients improved, no one recovered and most had adverse effects while waiting for relief. I refused to do anything that would worsen my condition but watched others get abused and discouraged by the medical system.

To avoid medications, I did two years of Neurofeedback, which improved my cognitive function but not the pain, fatigue, anxiety, migraines, chemical sensitivities, irritable bowel, insomnia, intolerance to noise, light and fragrance as promised. I visited various chiropractors and acupuncturists. A Reiki healer/massage therapist came to my home weekly to unlock my muscles so I could function. I became intolerant to alternative modalities, vitamins, herbs and supplements as time went by. I was on temporary disability during my quest for solutions to my pain which was a constant 8-10 on the pain scale. I could not exercise without becoming bedridden by exacerbated pain levels and crushing fatigue.

I reluctantly agreed to take medication in tiny doses to avoid side effects, which took the edge off the pain and fatigue so I could return to work...but I had no life. All my time off was used to rest and recover. I was alone and isolated and in despair. I was running on empty...the fatigue was becoming a bigger player because I was living outside the limitations of my disorder in a constant state of stress. I didn't want to live on drugs.

Cynical about healthcare, I felt that anyone offering help to Fibro patients was in it for self gain and not for the patients...Symptom management was no longer enough for me and that was all they had to offer. I needed hope and was convinced life was not worth living this way. The word Wellness is never uttered in Western Medicine because there is no money in it.

Everyone told me to live with it because there was no way out; so I stopped all treatments which had long since become intolerable and of no benefit. Seven years had passed. On 7/29/05 I drove over to Dr. Parker's office so I could feel like I had not given up. HOPE was waiting there for me.

Here is where I found a kind, compassionate, and gifted physician who understood this disorder, knew it's neurological roots and had devised a way to treat it with tools that are state of the art and less invasive. He humbly told me of his work with others like me who he had guided back to a state of wellness. Soon thereafter, where once I had no belief that this was even possible, I had a radical shift in thinking...a new perception...from a world of negative despair to one of positive and endless possibilities for change...I began by believing that he believed that I could heal. I came to believe by seeing the changes in my physical condition, thinking, behavior, and emotional ups and downs. For me it took time to see improvement and Dr. Parker is very generous with his time, which is critical for patients with Fibromyalgia. He really gets this disorder and is never frustrated by it. He knows the way out and what not to do so you won't be harmed as with previous practitioners.

Wellness is the path less traveled...it's full of hope for the next sign of improvement...laden with pitfalls, impatience, and is hard work that is always rewarded with progress. Some days I lose faith because I want to be further along this path, but I never fail to show up to work with my wellness guide because I want out of this.

About a year into working with Dr. Parker, I took medical leave from work and got off the meds with the help of his cold laser treatments. A few months later my body regained its ability to tolerate supplements which will help improve my energy levels. I walk almost everyday for at least 30 minutes, tone with 2 lb. weights and do balance ball exercises. I still limit my exercise to very small amounts to avoid discomfort but I'm able to do what was once disabling. I joined a ballroom dance class for fun and to be among people which is a challenge to my energy envelope...but I'm once again enjoying an activity I once excelled at but was unable to attempt until recently.

I believe as Dr. Parker does: The body has the ability to heal and that process coupled with his skills is the way out...and when this journey is completed, Fibro will be just a memory and I'll have the energy to do whatever I can dream of...and I started dreamin' months ago. This shows a huge change in my thinking which is what it takes...some days are a challenge which are followed by a quantum leap forward on the path.

I'm not alone in this anymore; I have a support team of talented healers who round out Dr. Parker's tailored to-the-individual program with massage, acupuncture and energy bodywork. He is a dedicated healer who is truly interested in helping others get their livers back and will be there for you every step of the way.
