Finding God’s Care in an Unplanned Day

Life rarely unfolds the way we expect. Sometimes the surprises are small inconveniences. Other times they interrupt our routines, our plans, or even our comfort.

Paul offers these words of assurance: “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine…” (Ephesians 3:20)

Earlier this week, I sat down to enjoy some popcorn after church and cracked a tooth on a kernel. After quite a bit of discomfort, Dr. Flores extracted the tooth, performed a bone graft, and put me on a liquid diet that will slowly progress to solid foods. This was not how I expected the day, or the next few weeks, to go.

And yet, these words came to mind not because the situation was ideal, but because God provided exactly what was needed. He gave a faithful friend, a skilled and gracious dentist, and care at just the right moment.

God’s “more” is not always about ease or comfort. Often, it looks like provision, presence, and grace in moments we did not anticipate. When our plans fall apart, His faithfulness remains steady.

Prayer: Father, thank You for Your faithful presence in unexpected moments. Help me trust You when plans change and recognize Your provision, even when the path looks different than I imagined. Amen.

One question: Where have you seen God provide for you in an unexpected way recently?

Today, I’m thanking God for Dr. Flores and his family and his staff. You can learn more about their practice here https://www.drfloresdds.com and here https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100063757261486
