Holding the Book and Trusting the Process
Several days ago, I held the advanced review copy of my book in my hands for the first time. After years of praying, preaching, teaching, rewriting, and waiting, something that had lived mostly in drafts and prayers finally became tangible. It was a holy reminder that God often works quietly and patiently, long before the fruit becomes visible.
Paul reminds us, “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine…” (Ephesians 3:20)
God’s “more” often comes after seasons of waiting, trusting, and continuing to say yes. Much of His work happens beneath the surface, shaping us long before anything becomes visible to others.
I am deeply grateful for Lisa, whose partnership and encouragement have shaped this journey in ways words cannot fully capture, and for the team at Kharis Publishing, whose care and collaboration helped bring this work from prayer and drafts into a finished book.
I am also grateful that God was not finished with my story when the writing process stalled or when rejection letters from publishers began to pile up.
As you take on the week ahead, remember that God is still working in your life, even in seasons of waiting and frustration. What feels unfinished or hidden today may be exactly where He is doing some of His “immeasurably more” work in your story.
Prayer: Father, thank You for the patient and faithful work You are doing in our lives, even when we cannot yet see the results. Help us trust You in seasons of waiting, to keep saying yes when the path feels slow or uncertain, and to believe that You are still at work beneath the surface. Strengthen our faith and open our eyes to Your quiet grace. Amen.
One question: What is God asking you to keep trusting Him with right now? Where are you in a season of waiting right now? I would love to hear how God is meeting you there at pastor@drstevenparker.com.
