Getting the Church Inside You Status Update
James Clement, Acquisitions and Operations Manager at Kharis Publishing, reached out to let me know that they are reviewing my suggested revisions and corrections and developing cover art and design concepts for my review, shaping the book toward its final form.
As I reflected on the surreal thought that this project is rapidly nearing completion, I realized how this update points beautifully to what Paul says in Ephesians 2:10.
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand for us to walk in.”
The Greek word translated “workmanship” is poiēma, from which we get the English word poem. It refers to something crafted and shaped with intention, something formed with purpose.
Just as a manuscript goes through careful hands that review, correct, polish, and format it, we go through God’s hands in the same way. God does not simply save us from sin and transport us to heaven. He refines us. He shapes our interior long before the exterior makes sense. He prepares the cover of our lives, but not before He has worked on the inside pages.
This update from Kharis reminds me of how God works:
· Quietly
· Faithfully
· With detail
· With purpose
· With an eye toward a finished work we cannot yet fully see
Your life is under divine review, not for condemnation but for completion, and not for fault-finding but for formation.
This means your story is not improvised. It is crafted.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You that we are Your workmanship, crafted with purpose and shaped by Your gracious hands. As You refine the details of our lives, help us trust the quiet work You are doing within us. When we cannot yet see the final form, remind us that You are faithful, patient, and intentional in every step. Teach us to walk in the good works You have already prepared. Form our character, align our desires with Yours, and let the interior pages of our lives reflect the beauty of Christ. Complete in us what You have begun, and let our lives become a living poem of Your grace. Amen.
“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” (Ephesians 3:20-21)
